Issue:

When attempting to connect 3ds Max and Backburner on a Windows 10 machine (version 1803), and error is encountered and the Server machines do not connect with the Manager.

Causes:

Windows is blocking ports or permissions for usage with Backburner.

Solution:

To fix this issue revert back to an older version of Windows 10, such as the 1703 Creators Update.
Note: It may be necessary to block recent Windows Updates to stop the issue from recurring again.

Hello, I have a troubleshooting issue with
Backburner 2008.1 for 3ds Max Design 2009. I
try to do a render of the scene via “net render”,
but when I launch Backburner Server in
stumbles over an “unhandled exception” and
starts the whole “loading job process” over and
over again. Here’s the text from the log:

In User’s guide there is no answer on that
problem, so I deeply count on your help. I did
not install any updates. My computer runs on
Windows 7 (Intel Core Quad @ 2.33 GhZ, 4
Gb RAM, NVidia GForce 9600 1 Gb). The
version of Windows and 3dsMax – 64 bits.
Autodesk support team simply said its all
windows 7 so we cant do a sh*t (non of 3ds
max products are designed for windows 7).
